Dr. Marvin Joseph Montefrio

Dr. Montefrio is Assistant Professor of Social Science at Yale-NUS College in Singapore. He received his doctoral training in environmental science and has earlier degrees in civil engineering, environmental engineering and environmental management. He has published extensively on organic foods production, green economy, agritourism, food security, swidden agriculture, and biofuels. He is a leading expert on environmentalism and swidden agriculture, biofuels and biotechnology in Southeast Asia. His research interests include sustainable food futures in Asia. He is recipient of numerous academic awards and grants and is a sought-after consultant in the field of environmental science and management.
