Dr. Adonara Mucek

Dr. Mucek is a volcanologist by training. Her research has focused on volcanology, studying the timing and range of volcanic eruptions of volcanoes in Indonesia. She has published her research in high profile international journals, including Nature Communications, and continues to publish research on the social aspects of mining in Indonesia. In addition to her research, Dr. Mucek is also actively involved in science education, outreach, and has contributed to National Geographic as a science consultant. Her interests include geology, with a specialisation in volcanology and geochronology, mining practices and social geology, and food securities for countries in Southeast Asia.
